Default Aftermarket fuel tank

Hello all,
I'm looking for an aftermarket over-size fuel tank for my '09 KLX250SF. the stock tank is ok for local riding, but I would like to extend the range for long and multi-day rides.
Thanks in advance,
Will

Love my black 3 gallon IMS tank. I average 55 MPG, so that's over 150 miles/tank. Plenty.

Thanks for the reply! How was the install on your bike?

I love my ims but fitment was a bit off but that may be bent parts on my bike from being dropped. Do a dry fit prior to adding gas in case areas need to be heated for clearance

Fitment is okay. You do have to force a few things, and the lights hit the front plastics now at full turn each way.

I love the black on my black bike visually, but clear let's you see the fuel...which is really helpful.

I love my IMS. My KLX is a newer fuel injected model so the tank is slightly smaller at 2.7 gallons. It replaced the huge tangle of hoses underneath with just one hose from the tank to the fuel pump, and a simple mechanical vent on the cap.

Big thanks to Bmart, Tooter, and Tacoma660. I appreciate your honesty about the fit and incidental issues. i also really appreciate the photos. I have an old XL250 that also could use xtra fuel, so I was thinking about the Rotopax setup (cheaper, and could serve multiple bikes). Still, there's no denying that it's super convenient to have an extra gallon of fuel, already in the tank! Thank you everyone.

I use RotoPax 2 gallon containers for track days. WAY easier to pack. Much lighter to lift than the 5 gallon ones everyone uses. They fit anywhere and they come in sizes. Let us know what you do...and post pics!

I added a pmr rack and carried a one gallon van on some remote trips and kept getting smacked in the butt on steep down hills and whooped out sections so I switched to a ima tank instead
