Many riders love MX helmet and goggles. It really work well unless you ride on the rough terrain. Especially you have to wear glasses, you glasses should fit the goggles, if not you will be hurt a bit. Choosing a suitable helmet is really not simple, but there are some good tips, let's read more to know them!

Good OTG goggles are Oakley L frame and Scott 89 OTG. I have been using the Oakleys for around 16 years now. I don't wear huge framed glasses, I wear more of a medium size lense, I'm thinking they're around 45mm lenses. No problems with the fit.

Still nothing like an ADV/dual sport style helmet with shield when it's raining, no stinging rain drops on the cheeks and lips... ouch!

Wow!...brings back memories. I think everyone on the enduro circuit here in Texas used one of those back in the day. I had a white one in just about every model right up to the Moto 7 I have now. Great helmets for racing, but for me it's a an ADV style for all my needs since I don't race anymore.

So a little FYI...

Oakley O frame googles work with the fly trekker. And even more convenient, the shield can stay on at the same time the Googles are on, and the shield can CLOSE with the Googles on.

Pretty snazzy. Even the sales guy didn't know that.

That may sell me on the Fly or AFX. I don't like the shape, but heck, I don't have to look at it while I have it on. That ability to have the goggles on AND close the shield would be great - if it works over the L frame.

I just got my onroad license last month and last week picked up a dual sport helmet as I was freezing my face off riding on the highway. With the lower temps we are having this time of year the windchill I was getting from my MX helmet was face numbing.

First shop I went to started of showing me the $1000 modular helmets. Way out of my budget! 2nd place I went to had these Voss helmets on sale for $189. The helmet has an internal tinted visor which is handy as well as the clear external visor. I find the external visor doesn't fog when riding but as soon as I'm stopped it starts to fog if I don't lift it. Which is my big beef with the helmet, there isn't an easy to grab ridge or lip to flip the visor up with gloves on and with gloves off you end up leaving fingerprints on it. Not a big deal especially considering what I paid. I'll probably still wear my MX helmet when doing strictly offroad. I have a feeling the visor on the the Voss will scratch easily.

I also found the helmet fit small, I usually wear an XL and had to go to an XXL.

I take it you haven't ridden much with street/dual sport helmets. That's about all normal. Unless you go to some special shield or pin lock system, the fogging is pretty normal. There are some anti-fogging sprays and such.

You could glue a bit of plastic to the edge of the shield to make a lift tab. Most have it on the left side. Super glue should work to do so. Just try to make it similar material to the shield, which is probably polycarbonate.
