Quite a few of us have installed the Acerbis 3.7 KLX300 tank on our '06/'07 250S models. With the stock carb it's pretty much a straight bolt on. Used with the pumper carb it requires a little throttle wheel carving on the carb linkage, but that's about it. Having that extra fuel is critical if you're actually riding way out in the boodocks.

I just got back from a nearly 3 week off road trip in AZ and NM, and most days I needed well more than the stock tank.

 

Yup. justgastanks used to show this tank for the '06/'07 as well. I wonder why they changed the listing.

I'd suspect it was because some returns were claimed by people who couldn't figure out the very minor tweaks that were needed to mount the tank on our bikes. You know...the same people who require those warnings not to stick hands or fingers under the deck of a running lawn mower...LOL!

 

Apologies to resurrect an old thread. And especially if maybe this has been answered in another thread already.

Wanted to absolutely confirm from others direct experience that the 3.7gal tank listed for the 97-08 KLX300 is appropriate for the 06/07 KLX250?
