The dealer called me yesterday and told me my rear 606 is in but like a good boy I went to the DMV and got my motorcycle license instead - passed with 20 out of 20 questions - I even surprised myself with that one. So Tuesday I'm letting the dealer put the tire on - for $18 sounds like a pretty good deal and hopefully no other surprises will "pop" up. The front 603 still has at least 80% tread life left. I'm 6'-3" so the extra height shouldn't be an issue. Deej, did the 606 seem any wider than the 603?

Here's one for ya, except I'm showing my age. Does anyone remember someone made a tube that was not one solid circle, kinda just one long tube that butted together somehow? Didn't have to remove the wheel to get it on, or in. Boy I need them, not only am I aging but I am getting very, very lazy. I wouldn't recommend for street use, but I only ride in the mountains at what I consider sane velocities, others would not concur. I dunno, either I saw this a few years ago (like in 70's) or I dreamed it in a wobbly pop stuper, and just gave away a million dollaridea. Ah such is life. Anyone old enough to remember?

Oh yeah, never say surprise, pop and tire in the same paragraph.

ORIGINAL: vfrpilot

Back in April when we were on the Hillbilly dualsport ride in AR, My group leader had a flat rear tire on his DRZ. He performed the"McGiver tire change" flawlessly. Blocked it up with a rock, changed the tube and back on in about 20 -25 minutes. I was impressed! He did however use my CO2 cartridges which sped up the airing process.
Having pumped one up with a hand pump and another using CO2, guess what I'll be using if I ever have to do another. [sm=yeahsmile.gif] [sm=shades.gif] [sm=nxsmile.gif]just change NX to CO2 [sm=icon_ladiesman.gif]

From many, many years of mtn. bike experience, I decided to NO LONGER carry co2 cartridges. Sometimes those things wouldn't fire right, other times it would be your dumb **** fault, any how the thing is you only get one shot, and if you mess up, well your shat outta luck. I carry the topeak handpump where ever I go, it doesn't take long at all to get from 20 psi to 30 psi from jumping from dirt to road,
