I just finally am getting around to installing the 351 kit.
I've had it on the shelf since July. Yeah i know,,, too much on my plate.
Anyway,, the stock wrist pin just slipped right out. The 351 kit, i had to preheat the piston, and chill the pin, and then i had to use a "C" clamp to run it in (light pressure, but still more than the stock). Did you all who did this kit have a press fit pin?? I'm not too sure about this but i think it should be a full floating pin like the stock one?? Maybe my stock pin was loose in the piston because the manual shows to use a pin removing tool, and i didn't have to.
Any ideas?? Should i leave it alone or send the piston back??

It should be a slip fit. not a press. Check to see that the bore is clean and it should slip though.

 

I got a real quick response from Bill Blue via e-mial.
It seems that i am OK with a slight press fit because the pin is a good fit on the rod end, just a little tight in the piston.
Kinda like a CHEVY motor.
I'll finish it up hopefully next weekend if i get some more time.
