351/TM33 tuning for dummies

RaceGass: I just replaced the plug 80-130mi ago. should get more life out of them than that aye 
ITHAPPENS: lid yes, snorkel no. the snorkel is in the parts box, so i reckon its without the snorkel for a reason and probably tuned that way
buttt i think i figured it out. this white plastic piece near the carb throttle is broken. from what i understand, that looks like a lever to actuate the pump, so maybe the pump is constantly open and spraying extra gas. theres also some gas residue on the airbox-side of the slide.. pic: https://imgur.com/a/deYiF0U https://imgur.com/a/19XNDjz

I reduced the decel pop on my 09 bike (which is configured much as yours... 351 BB and Mikuni), by running ethanol free. But it's still there. It also improved a rough ish idle, but still not perfect. I'm gonna change the plug (after seeing your pic) and also the snorkle to see if that helps. I'll be watching this thread, thanks for posting... t
