340 help
Well got my 340 kit and my new 36mm carb today. The service manual is on backorder till the 25th, so I'm going to tackle this without it! Any pointers that any one can think of would be great.

RE: 340 help
Im doing a 300 kit with no manual right now. Its not too bad if been in an engine before. All the torque values as well as good infor on timing & tentioners has all been posted. Search around. If I was on my home computer I could post you some links that I favorited but Im not.

RE: 340 help
Kevin,
If you haven't torn it down yet, you might benifit from making a drawing, and/or photographing some of the tear-down process. Especially cam positioning. It's easy to get right by doing this, but it would be equally as easy to mess up by forgetting how it all goes. It's really a pretty simple process as long as you're careful when installing the piston rings.
Let us know how it rides when you're done.
