Default 300cc first impression, ride report

Did about 30 miles offroad over the weekend with the 300 jug(wiseco piston) and 14/47 gearing. First thing let me say it is still no power house. It does have more torque than the 250. Its like having the power/torque of being in a gear lower than you really are. On the street 6th has more than enough power for almost any hill. On the trail we were on I would usually be in 4th gear most of the time with 250cc(13/42 gearing)but this time with 300ccI was mostly cruising in 6th. Overall it is what Kawi should have put on it in the first place. Now I just have to get the FCR mounted that I have sitting on the bench for a real ride report.

Hey Jeff thanks for the update. You almost sound disappointed with it? Is it worth the $? I wonder if you'd get the torque you're after with the 45 sprocket?

Are you able to wheelie at all/better?

well quit typing and get mounting that FCR!!!! I went the other way, I did the FCR from Jerry 1st. I'm VERY happy with the carb- But I have a Bill Blue 331 kit on the way. Coming out of a corner its like I dumped the clutch. It hits so much harder.
Good luck if you need any jetting let me know. I'll post mine.

I would sayit's more of a value for the money than an exhaust system is, but you need the exhaust to get the full performance of the bigbore. I am not disapointed with it. In first gear chop the throttle than gas it with no clutch and it will stand up. I haven't really experimented with second gear yet with this setup. To be honest I think the gearing is just about good for me. I don't have a speedo/tach hooked up yet but for road riding I don't think I would want the gearing any lower. Although 13/45, what a lot of guys are running, is lower than my setup and they report road riding is ok.Once I get the the FCR on the setup should be sweet.

I have the vortex but haven't put it on yet. I think when I put the fcr on I will do that at the same time. How far does the vortex actualy turn. I know the stock throttle turns right around 90 degrees. Is the vortex like 45 degrees. I should look I know that the pictures are somewhere on the forum.

I could have sworn the stocker was like a near 180 degree turn, but I don't remember. The vortex is closer to 90 imo.

Put the vortex on first, you will like it. Hardley any time, other wise you wont know how much is from the carb & hpow much is from thew throttle & I'm here to tell ya the throttle helps a great deal.
