Default 3 minutes of my Sunday

Went riding yesterday, with a buddy I normally ride with, he's got a messed up leg, which keeps our motorcycle rides kind of mellow, but put him on an ATV and he runs at another level. I was following him on the KLX with Shinko 705's. I was amazed at what the tires let me do, just got to keep the speed up.
Unfortunately the sound sucks and the GoPro just doesn't tell it like it is, but you'll get the idea of what I normally ride...the roads of Maine or what used to be roads. You'll often run into a car on some of these roads too.
Ride included a stop for hot dogs cooked over a fire.
Didn't run into anyone except some equestrians.

Looks fun to me! I've gotten older and slower. To me a good day riding is no injuries. Plus I get to actually see more wildlife just easin around.

I was surprised I didn't get hurt or crash because of my tires! I did wear my armor just in case.
I'm still trying to learn the trails out there. I've got a month or 3 before the snow flies to learn them better and get faster.
I did get into 5th gear a few times, but I couldn't get my tires off my mind and would slow down because of it.
Maine has lots of unmaintained roads. They go from mud to sand to rock beds (usually uphill) and provide good fun and practice. You can find all sorts of old stone foundations, even some old locomotives too.

Maximus,
I'm curious where that trail/road was? I've spent a lot of time on trails like that in Western Maine. My folks place isn't too far from you (just south of Ossipee) so I'm sure we've spent time on the same trails.

It was off Fern Drive between Old Waterford Rd and Maine Rt 93. That's all I can tell you, happy to show you though.
There are a bunch of roads back there(not on any of my maps) but I was on a legal ATV route, because I was with ATVs.

I have the Shinko (009) Raven's on the ZX9, and am very very pleased. Granted, I ride pretty conservatively most of the time, but they let me do pretty much anything I want to do on the 'ol green chubby-buddy. Lotsa tire for the $.
