Default 250S vs SF Suspension Question

I know the stated travel distances are different on the S vs the SF bikes as well as the spring rates.

Can anyone tell me, are the actual forks and shock longer, or are they just limited internally how much they can travel? Everytime I see an S model it looks like the front forks are literally an inch or so longer overall than the SF.

I am doing some crazy parts swapping with my SF and am curious what the actual differences are.

Yes, the S forks are longer. I made the same conversion from SF to S. Not only will you need new front forks but also a s version rear shock. Oh, and don't forget the side stand. It will be too short after the suspension is changed.

Can someone with an S measure how long the fork is overall? Like from the top of the tube to the axle or something? I found a set on Ebay but id hate to buy them and find out theyre like 3/4" longer or some barely perceivable difference.

How hard would it be to swap the entire triples/stem from a KX250? Does anyone know the bearing OD/ID of the head bearings on either the KLC or the KX250f's?

Another question, how much different externally are the 06-07 fork and shock vs the 09+ S model stuff?

07s... 37.5" from top of fork (from flat part of nut) to bottom of right side (total, paste centerline of nut, including fitting on bottom). Right fork, on side stand, should have been near top of travel, I pulled up on it.

awesome, my 09 SF is about 35.5 from the top of the nut to the very bottom of the fork. So 2 inches shorter.

Can someone measure a 08+ S model fork pretty please??

hmm now that is interesting... You measured from the top of the nut to the very bottom if the shock?

i guess that about right...we measured 1/2" difference when it's supposed to be 1"?, And the 06-07 are 1" longer then that

The 06 07 bikes had more travel. Very top of nut to bottom of the fork.
