Does anybody ride with a windscreen installed on your klx250. Im having a hard time finding one that fits. Most that I have found are universal fit. I did find a couple from Baja worxs and they have one for a crf250L that looks like it might mount to the headlight cover. Or should I just get the MRA roadshield universal fit.

I did a National Cycle Deflector Shield on my KLX650, mostly because of my experience with it on other bikes when I was selling bikes and installed them. We sold only the quick release model and that was what I put on the 650. I clamped it to the cross bar with some shims. There are two quick releases, one for the shield itself and the other to remove all but the mount nubs. The former makes shield cleaning easy, the latter makes it easy to remove the shield when off roading and have it on for road use.

The quick release on the shield allows you to alter the rake of the shield and to keep it off of anything like the headlight plate so there is no rattling.

I actually used that one on the KLX650 and then on the Zephyr 550 for a while, before putting it back on the 650. I haven't fitted it to the 250, but know it will fit with all the adjustment it allows.

 

I used a windshield from a 2008 or newer KLR 650, Looks stock and easy to install, I bought mine used on ebay.

 

I have NOT installed one on my KLX250S but I have seen reviews of the Slipstreamer Tombstone HD-3 and it appears to work on many bikes due to the flexibility in the mounting system. Even though it is not marketed as a universal fit, it has appeal for use on a dual sports due to its size and shape. I have seen one installed on an XR650L and the installation on a KLX would seem pretty similar, accounting mainly for the movement of the front brake hose.
