2014 stator(left side) cover
Poked a hole in my stator cover today laying the bike on its side after a gnarly hill climb. Looking for a new(used) one. What years are compatible??
Thanks

Don't know how big the hole is, but it could be TIG or MIG welded by a good welder that knows bikes and won't gob aluminum on it, could probably fix it for far less.
Just another avenue.

You're welcome.

He made a very nice bash plate to protect the stator cover.
JB Weld and bubble gum?

I have an emperor racing skidplate on mine and it does a reasonably good job of protecting the sides of the engine:

I have repeatedly bashed mine on large rocks on the trails and it's taken a beating but protected the bike well.

TIG worked on a concours Bultaco Metralla my brother and I had. Seems aluminum can be welded and finished to look like the original polished cast clutch cover in that case. I also think it cost a bit less than $144!
By the way, the hole from a thrown chain on the Sherpa T was done with a chunk of Coke can and PC7 (similar to JB) back in 71, still holding.
