What model did you get? I have the KA-1287 and it fits fine.

First-hand to the rescue... the K&N lets too much crap through, and they clog WAY too fast. Rode with a friend a couple weeks ago... we had to nurse his KLR the whole way becuase of the stupid K&N in it. Very dusty that day, and it just kept clogging up on us. Even after trailering it home, cleaning and recharging the filter, the bike still ran like crap. Slapped a foam filter on it, and it would run fine. Every K&N I have ever had (bought them for cars, twice) have been nothing but trouble.

not sure i would use one on a dirt bike but i put one in my jeep cherokee at 70k miles and it was still in there at 290k when i sold it. i think i got my $30 worth.
