Ya, I think you got that right. You can pull the small cap/plug off and let the bag drain, or just pull the bag & plug to delete the Al Gore addition. Mine's still on, but I'm not really expecting it to stay .

 

Search around and you'll find some details, but basically pull it off and plug the attachment points at the carb and front of engine. The system lets air into the exhaust to complete the burn of unburnt fuel.

And when I asked my question, I meant KDX200 OR KLX 300 (not KDX300) - pretty sure I've read people talking about a KLX300 snorkle. If I find some time I'll do some searching, maybe it was a dream.
