Ya, but does any of this stuff void the warranty??

I have a "new" 07 KLX 250 with 1200 kms. on it. Would love to do some of this but concerned about voiding the warranty 'should' anything happen. I don't need them saying the bikes no longer stock, and the mods I did voided everything. (I will probably do some of this after the initial 12 month expires. I didn't take the extended warranty ......... should I ???)

The biggest upgrade Im working on is a diet! I've porked out to 260#, hell I weigh as much as the bike. If I can get myseld down to 200# I may be able to lift the front!

Default New pipe

Hey guys I just got my bike back today. Installed a pro circuit type 496 pipe $529 jet kit air filter 13t front sproket, bar risers and UFO hand guards. What a totally different bike. It rides like my old xr 400 just better. wheelies in the first 3 gears are really easy. I love this bike. I am thinking about a aftermarket gas tank. 138km the hit reserve? not good. I guess it has something to do with the ride it like I stole it attitude. Anyways thanks for all your help.
PS. The guys at my local shop had to build a special sleeve at the muffler shop in order to make the pipe fit.

Is it worth getting new exhaust without a new jet kit? I really want a bit more lower end power (hill climbs and wheelies over stuff) but dont want to mess around with reliability and mileage too much. Ive done a lot of mods on my old KLR, but stayed away from tinkering with the carb, anyone replaced the jet and needle without drilling out?

btw: Ive had my 09 klx250s all summer, completely hammered it through the trails and covered it in mud and just love it - take the highway out to the trails no problem and takes a pounding in the rough.

Thanks,

I'm looking for the opposite. Here's a cut and paste from a post I did on Thumpertalk.

I keep hearing people going to a 13T sprocket (or is it 14?) in the front for more low end power in the dirt. I don't really hear too much about the rear sprocket.

I'd like to get highway cruising on this a little more comfortable when I'm doing 65-70mph. Instead of 7-9k rpm constant, would it be possible to get it down some without sacrificing a lot of low end torque? I understand going to a 15T or 16T front sprocket will do this, but what about the rear sprocket. I do mostly road riding with some mixed trails/dirt roads. Nothing too gnarly, but you never know!

I guess I'm just looking to make things a little more comfortable at highway speeds without sacrificing the great fun I'm having from 0-50 mph!
