If you look at the red and green ones on the Kawi site, they still have the ugly boat anchor exhaust. The shiny pretty exhaust is on the Japan spec bikes, as is EFI.

 

actually, those are European spec bikes and do not have efi. they do have different chainguards from US versions. efi on the KLX in Japan I don't think happened either, just the d-tracker I think.

 

My mistake, I was under the impression both Japan models got the EFI.

 

The new headlight looks cool.

The reduced suspension travel should come as welcome news for shorter people and road riders. The new taillight/license plate appendage has changed quite a bit, now incorporating the taillight. On the 06/07 owners could just unbolt the black section and attach their plate on the remaining fender (a free mod), that option is now gone on the '09. How long will owners of the '09 have to wait before the aftermarket tools up a larger capacity fuel tank that incorporates the redesigned stock radiator shrouds?

 

If I made aftermarket parts, I wouldn't want to do a setup for a bike that only ran 2 years productionin the USA.

Does anybody know what the Clark tanks will fit besides the 06/07? I heard out beloved KLX goes back quite a few years!

ps. umm, why would Kawi wait until May to introduce this highly anticipated bike? If you would do some research and stop worrying about when I post and when I don't, you'd know that the intro date is sometime in February. Oh yeah, I wasn't going to post until after I had bought my new bike but you know I don't take jabs without hitting back. Now, go get a life and step back from your keyboard.[sm=pcwhack.gif]
