2008 Yamaha WR250R/X - Dirt Bike Review
those bikes look much more powerful than a stock KLX250. you can just tell when they wheelie that they've got more power. I was watching a video on youtube lastnight of this bike and the rider had the front end up more than down. I hate the rad. shrouds/tank design. They stick out huge and look like butterfly wings. If you could get ther Euro. red/black I may have considered one anyways.
ive ridden my friends new wr250r
the suspension is worlds above the klx and i only weigh in at 160 lbs
the power wasnt much different from my modded klx
the the weight was obviously more
the dash was much more pleasant
when i rode it it was only about 25 deg outside and the bike fired up cold easy as pie
for my money a modded klx is still a better looking bike with equal preformance and price

My friend has a brand new WR250 and it does have the power there is no doubt but hes flat out getting 140kms (86 miles) per tank around town compared to my 200kms (125 miles) on my stock KLX. No matter if its off road or on road hes the one always filling up the gas first while I'm still riding around getting wolf whistles from all the pretty ladies!!!!! Yeeeaaaaa baby!!!!
Cheers!

I would seriously consider this bike if it wasn't so tall.
I checked one out and it's way too tall for me.
But good suspension, reasonable power and low maintenance. Works for me.
And no badly priced either.
I think it would be a big leap forward when compared to the KLX250.
Which is fair enough as the KLX is around 15 years old now.
I suspect that Kawasaki will bring out something similar in due course.

Iowa your 09 klx is basically the same as the 06 07 klx's with some minor erogos and gearing changes.....that wr is sweet.....but it should be for the same price as a ktm almost. From your previous posts I'm not sure you would like the wrseatheight and the suspension is way solid or stiff ..... even for my 170 lbs....very nice bike.
