2007 KLX250s will not start cold, but will bump start or start from a jump just fine

It will turn over with battery but not fire up..
When you hook it to a car to jump start, or you bump start it, it will fire right up.
And the trick about holding your hand over the exhaust - I used to do that when I flew nitro RC helis and airplanes - finger over the exhaust port or carn intake and turn it over a couple times to prime it.. Worked every time! We'll have to try that out too.
