It wasn't the file that was infected, it was the hosting site. Not sure if it was sent as part of the download or something else. But, you have been warned, take it if you want, ignore me if you want, just providing a community service.

disregard the prior post.. had a friend grab it and got it via msn.... on a sidenote, i scanned the file with Nod32... all's well.

Are we certain the illustrations and other information in this .pdf are unencumbered by copyright? I realize Kaw places this information on their website for free but that doen't necessarily mean they grant you the right to reproduce it in any form.

Certain manufacturers have been known to rain down lawyers on the heads of site administrators that post this kind of stuff.

I dont think its a big deal with kawasaki...the same info is used at bike-bandit, mrcycles etc and I doubt they pay royalty to kawasaki.

I see the gray area with the parts list because that is not something that is specifically for sale from Kawasaki (I don't think so anyway) so having a electronic copy floating around could only help their sales of OEM parts for repairs.I bet you dollars to doughnuts, though,that Kawasaki would have a serious problem with someone distributing an electronic copy of the S/M because they obviously make some pretty serious jack off of that book.
