Anyone here running the Clarke tank on their first gen KLX250S? Do you have any issues with routing fuel lines from petcock to the tank?

Also the distance between cylinder head and the bottom of the tank is pretty small. Should some heat shield be installed on the bottom of the tank?

I have a Clarke tank on a 2007. The hoses are tight but they work OK. I used new fuel hoses and might have rerouted them.
There enough of an air gap between the tank and cylinder head and I've not had a problem with it.

Hey what has you guy's range increased to with the clarke tank? I'm commuting on my 07 now and I end up having to fill up in both directions because of the capacity. If I could get it to only filling up on my way home, it'd make me happy

249cc, Q4 with 1 1/8" quiet core, DJ2148 kit, KDX200 snorkel and K&N filter. I get around 70 miles to a stock tank. I haven't put the Clarke on yet (other than dry mounting to see how it will look)

Have Clarke 2.7 gallon tank
2007 250S now a 300 with OEM cylinder & piston etc. KLX 300 silencer/muffler with rear baffle removed (still has spark arrester) and FSW header pipe
With TM 36-68 flat slide pumper carburetor my effective range is 140 miles. Run reserve all the time with this carb.

Range was 133 miles main tank and 12 miles reserve with the Keihn carb that was rejetted.
Same cc and exhaust as above.

I don't baby the bike and run it hard when off road.

Doug

Hey Doug

Your running a TM36-68 with the Clark tank? Are you running the stock throttle cables? How much clearance do you have between carb and tank? I've been looking for some who did this on a 07.

I put the IMS 3.1 tank on instead of the clarke. Easy fit, and works great with TM36-68 and cables, didn't reroute at all on a 2011

Unfortunately the IMS tank isn't available for the 2008 and older bikes.
