I remember that my buddy got to ride a sport bike one time, and that was the last time he ever wanted to ride one. He got going and before he knew it he was going 120 mph on I-75, think he was in second gear. He said the engine was going so smooth that he never thought he would be going so fast so soon, it scared him and that was the last time he road anything like that. Thats the thing, I think the bike will often outride the people driving it. But many people have been riding forever with no probs.

Also you talk about needing two jobs to pay for both of them, don't forget to call the insurance company before you get the new Crotch rocket, I gaurantee you that you will need another job to pay the insurance, IT IS CRAZY HIGH!!!!

yea i rode a R1....... ONCE....... that was enough. No thanks i dont need something that can do 90mph in 1st gear.......

yep, I too rode my buddies R1. I was a very experienced sportbike rider, with my last being the '96 gixxer 750- a bike that was revolutionary and extremely light and powerful for a 750. the R1 scared the crap out of me. it came up in 1st so fast and easy that it plum near flipped, bringing it down nearly castrated me as well. Now I am a huge sportbike fan, not as much as when I was 20 but I still like to look at them. but at some time you really have to say, what's the point? I mean 185 horsepower, 197mph top speed for the '99 Hayabusa- the fastest bike of all time. Do we really need that? I know, I know, yeah we do. It's the American way. Just be careful
