Default 2007 KLX-250s Butt Plug Removal

Does the butt plug mod require cutting on the 2007's? It seems like you could just unscrew it on the older models. I read where you could get as much as 5 hp gain by removing it.

Run a 1/2" drill bit up the muffler into the first baffle plate or if your feeling brave go through the second baffle.

The 250S has no removeable butt plug. Just the 250/300R's.

I plan to fill in the hole with an end piece[sm=icon_quiet.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif]. It seems to work ok.

Thanks, So...Do I just run the 1/2" drill bit straight into the hole at the end of the Muffler? How far will get me through the 1'st baffle? How far to get through the 2nd baffle?
Thanks

Yep! I used a 1/2" drill bit to go through the first baffle, then a 3/8" to go through the second. You're going to need a 12" long (3/8") drill bit to get into the second baffle - I got mine at ACE Hardware, I think it cost me around $17. It sounded and performed a little bit better than stock. I like the sound and the performance gain of my HMF better though. Once you get bitten by the "bug", there's no stopping - so get a couple of extra credit cards and go for it - I can also recommend a good, cheap bankruptcy lawyer!
