2007 250S

I am new here. Bought a 2007 KLX250s. Love it. I have read on the site about mods etc. My bike feels like there is a governor or something restricting the power. My Brother says there is something I could do to the carb without spending money etc. Also, something to do with the exhaust system.
Anyone have any suggestions or help tips. Don't need any council about the existing power being sufficient. Just some tips. Thanks.

welcome aboard... rejet the carb. only costs like 60$ the will help and put the kdx220 snorkel on it let it suck more air in, or just remove the snorkel.

Anyone know if blinkers and mirrors are required by the law to ride your bike on the street.

Is this your first street bike? Do you have a motorcycle license?

You will have to check your state. Each state has different laws.

To open up my '07 I tossed the airbox lid....then added a Four stroke works header...then an FMF powercore IV slip on along with a rejet.I got the needle from dynojet but I already had about 20 different jets to choose from ,from my atv's so you should get the klx300 dynojet kit if you don't already have it.I removed the vacuum line from the carb to the dojiggy emmissions pod crap at the front of the motor and plugged them with vacuum port caps as well as the other port on the airbox.I then got a 1/2" drillbit and opened up the crank breather tube port on the airbox (the lower hose) to free up the crankcase vent....all of this is explained in the FAQ post in the top five on this page.I also went as far as getting a 47 and 49 t rear sprocket and an extra chain for my off road adventures but i hav'nt installed them yet as i'm still actually "dual-sporting" on the delaware river and it's multitude of unpaved dirt roads with creek crossings.....next week i'll be running some northeast coal country and i'll have the 49 installed so i'll be able to post some input then......and yes you do need those turn signals.....I hope you got a permit at least....If your in PA. then sign up for the free MSF class to get your license....It's free and they provide a bike for you :)
