i bet i know whats going on..... you bought it, and saw some on craigs going for alot more than what you paid and thaught you could make a few bucks on it if you just sold it again..... right? and if not no biggie u will just ride it... am i right?

no I didn't. the analogy was in trying to sell the honda to a honda dealer who has numerous examples of the cars already. just like the members here; you're listing a bike on a forum for people who HAVE the bike already. I wasn't trying to stir trouble with my original post, that's why I put "fyi". I didn't want you to be surprised when no one jumped on your over a grand more than what they're selling for price. There was an '06 in Arizona with a full BigGun and like 600 miles that sold for $2600. I saw it on cycletrader.com before I bought my '09 and called them immediately. The dealer said he took it in on trade and an hour later he sold it for what he gave the guy for trade-in. The days of selling the KLX for profit are over as the bikes are easily found (excluding the '09 as they're still somewhat rare). I did sell my '06 on ebay in the spring of '07 for $4200 but that was to a desperate soldier in Iraq that was on his way home and wanted a bike here when he arrived. It also had mods along with low miles, lower than yours and a 300 cylinder. His father picked it up for him. Again, I hope for your sake you can sell the bike for your price, but I seriously doubt it will happen. The bike, for all intents and purposes is probably pushing close to three years old from original manufacture date. My '09 btw, was bought for $4990 otd.

I joined this forum before I bought mine.
It was part of the research into which bike I chose.

If someone nearby had one for sale I would have taken a look.
In the end I bought a new one.

Plus it's free.

 

I think I may have to look into one of those RARE honda red 09's and put it away until it's really worth alot

 

that sounds like a wise move hoke; a red or green one for that matter. it's hard to find either one.
