Default 200 in a day.

Hello,

Having just bought my new KLX I had the chance to take it on a long ride. It's a ride I've wanted to do for a while. The ride would take me from the East coast (Norfolk U.K) down to Hampshire UK. Although it was all road riding I was interested to see how the KLX would fare on fast UK a-roads and a bit of the M25 motorway. Plus it was a good way to start to get the bike run in.

I know it was going to be a slog on the KLX and only hovering around the 65mph I wasn't going to break and land speed records. I stopped twice for fuel and the rest was welcome although I do find the KLX comfortable a stop is always nice. All in all I was very supprised how the KLX handled the whole trip, it's not a mile muncher but I know it'll do it. I will plan to do the return trip soon and will take a different route.

The KLX rocks!!

I wish I was in Australia, but I'm in liitle old England. It was a 200 miles. I get between 90-100 mils before the fuel light comes on.

Fuel light? That's a cool feature.
Enjoy the bike. Totally reliable machine. Only problems I've had were clogged carb jets and starting in cold weather, since yours is fuel injected, you should have zero issues.

That's pretty good mileage! When I see 100 miles on the ODO, I'm usually on the side of the road dumping one of my extra bottles of fuel into the tank...

Actually, I only ran out completely one time, and it was at 106 miles on the ODO.

I should have red twice!

BTW Personally I usually switch to reserve at 75 miles. I don't know why I always get crappy MPG with my bikes.

Me too, 70 miles and the tank is dry as a bone, not including reserve of course

I think I get good mileage because the fuel is so expensive here in the UK that the petrol company's make it extra economical for us.
