Default 1st hard starting, now wont stay running

Well, I finally had a chance to take my bike out of the basement this weekend. Buried behind all the stuff from the basement i am remodeling...
Anyway, I was having a heck of a time getting it started. I drained all the gas (from last year), emptied the float bowl, and put in fresh gas, removed and cleaned the spark plug, and got it running with a jump from the car.
The first time i had it started I let it idle, adjusted the idle, and let it run for about 3 minutes before it just shut off. It wouldn’t start right away after that. I gave it about a 1/2 hour, drained the bowl again, and it fired right up without a jump. But the same thing happened again after a couple of minutes. Repeated process again, and took it for a ride down the road thinking it needed to be cleared out. It stalled out after about 3/4 of a mile. I was at the top of a hill (luckily) but it wouldn’t pop start either.
Any ideas you guys have would be welcome...

Cheers,

Kris

Sounds like a bad float. A big pain to tear that carb out of there. Try again w/ the simplest things 1st- new gas (again), clean plug- double check everything ect...

The carb is not really a big deal to pull off if you have to. Try tapping lightly on the float bowl it might free things up.

That's exactly what i was going to suggest.A couple good taps from a screwdriver handle usually works best with the gas turned on.
