Hey comon6969, what happened to your stock 14t front sprocket?
I am actually gonna put on my new 45T renthal and new chain today using Kawi Wawi's awsome chain removal/install write-up. (THANKS KAWI)
My bike is mechanically stock, all upgrades are either cosmetic or saftey, so I should be able to give you a reasonable review going from a 42T stock sprocket to a 45T. (front is still 14T stock as well)
I will also be adding new trakmaster tires withrim locks as well. Plus a bunch of other goodies.

I'll let ya know later on today how I make-- out if your interested.................

Josh, the rear sprocket for the KLX300 fits our bike, so anything you find for the 300 will work for you.

While any klx 300 REAR sprocket will work because of the same hub I believe..........BUT the klx 300 front sprocket will not fit the klx250.
****keep in mind I get the info straight from this site*****

Comon6969-check the very first sticky up top on main page...

Did anyone ever find a 13 tooth with a rubber boot like the14 tooth stocker? I'm running one with a Honda part # and it's noisy.

The rubber insert is not going to help with thenoise when you are moving. It will only cushion the shifts mainly from neutral to first. The reason for the increase in noise is because you are running a sprocket with a smaller diameter. It doesn't matter if it has rubber or not it's going to make more noise if the chain has to turn in a smaller radius.

I have a 13/45 on mine and it does run high rpm's at 65 or so. If I were going to do mostly streetriding which involved a lot of highway milesI would switch back to the 14/45. For the dirt you cant beat the 13/45 or the same ratio using a large rear sprocket.

I agree except for mostly street riding and mild dirt I'd stick with the stock 14 / 42, for say half and half use I'd use 14 / 45 or 13 / 42, for lots of offroad and slow work you can't beat 13 / 45 or 14 / 48, just depends on what your using the bike for. I have 13 / 45 on mine and it's pretty much right for the sort of offroad riding I do. It's fine around town too but I wouldn't wanna ride it to far at 60mph or thereabouts.

P.S. I have the XL650 sprocket on mine seems ok so far
