'13 KLX250S 16t front , stock rear
I just ordered a 16 teeth front sprocket for my '13 KLX250s, a lot of people say this is too much and will ruin me on the trails, which I agree for trails, but i'll be switching my my 14 to 16 depending on what I do.
Anyways on to the point, anybody ever tried a 16t front and stock on the rear? If so, let me know how it goes on the highway.
*P.S : I got the 16t because it's the only one I could find that doesn't have incredibly stupid shipping prices, at only 32$ of shipping I took it, compared to 60$ on shipping

Well, can't qualify it for sure because I haven't tried it, but I'm su****ious that the KLX won't pull top gear with a 16/42 setup. When I bought mine from an aquaintance back in '09 it had a 15/42 setup. Even with the DJ kit, full Muzzy exhaust, and all the airbox mods, I thought the bike was really anemic trying to perform in 6th gear. And I'm wondering if that sprocket will fit. It's darned tight with the 15.

Wouldn't fit unless you took the case saver and sprocket cover off, then it'd likely run so close to the case that a stiff chain link would hit. That if even fit! sorry. The shipping cost hints that you live far from parts ?
Stock gearing on a stock bike barely will pull 6th gear now? 16t would be a huge jump.

16t will probably fit without the case saver and longer chain, but 15t is all you need for the highway...all you need is the 13t and 15t to switch around for fun and original chain...
