'09 KLX250S Street Tire Recommendation?
I'm looking into options to replace my stock off-road 18/21 tires for the upcoming riding season with sport touring tires because my riding is 100% street.
Does anyone reccomend Continental GO! Sport Touring tires or have any other suggestions? The Continental sizes I'm interested in are 130/70HB Rear and 90/90HB21 Front.
Are these too wide for stock gearing and/or would a setup such as this improve/diminish handling for road use in town and on the highway?
What have you used wider/narrower and what do you prefer as far as brand?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated and look forward to the response(s).
Regards,
Robert

+1 on the 705's. I've got 4,000 miles on mine and they show little wear, pretty sure I could go another 4,000.
Oh how I wish knobbies lasted like the 705's.
I went wider once, with some knobbies(3.25"F and 5.1"R), the extra weight killed what little quickness the bike had. OK, not really, but it was a wee bit slower off the line, enough to be noticable.
Going wider in just the back will make the steering a little different. Nothing to worry about, just something to get used to...

What size Shinkos do you guys run?
I have had a couple people tell me their tires don't balance out, but overall I've read people have had good luck.
Would I be ok running a 90/90-21 front 130/70-18 rear on my bike?
Stock is 80/100-21 front and 100/100-18 rear.
Thanks for the replies.

I have 90/90-21 and 120/90-18.
It's almost like a SF with these tires, I said almost.
I did lose the knobby induced death wobble in high speed turns, thanks to all the solid rubber to lean on, instead of a **** here and there.

I run the Shinko 705's on 2010 250s with a 330 big bore kit. I don't remember what size I have but they are close to stock. I like them , hands down best tires I've had yet. I mainly ride on road but I still ride the Turkey Bay ORV park with them. Dirt bikers laugh at my tires but when I hang with them all day on the trails , they aren't laughing. Stay out of the mud and they are great. On the road they are even better. I can lean bike so far over in the turns that it scares me. I got 3200 miles of hard riding out of back tire. Put another 705 back on. I have close to 5000 miles on front tire , still looks new. Oh don't forget to scrub them in before getting crazy in the turns. Hope this helps.
