Default 09 klx250s parts availability

I had the kawi dealer order a new front brake lever, turn signal lens and a complete turn signal assembly, said it would take 2-3 days. I wasn't in a hurry.

The turn signal assembly is in, but the other parts aren't and was in formed that there is no estimated time of arrival. I askedwhat no eta means, he said theyhaveno idea when the parts will be in stock.

Anyone else having the same issues?

I had to order a new clutch lever (The joys of learning to ride motorcycles!) and it came in a matter of a weekend (ordered on a Fri and had it Wed). We ordered two (since I"m a noob and figured better safe than sorry) they were only $5 a piece... HOWEVER, having said that, I think they said the clutch lever was the same as on one of the bigger bikes, so IDK.

Being a brand-new bike it doesn't surprise me that some parts are hard to come by.

Hey RaceGass,

Why not use aftermarket indicators, better that the stock gigantic ones, get some nice small ones, probably cheaper to.

Cheers
Chris.

Yes, there are probably some nicer and cheaper aftermarket turn signals. Also guys, get some good hand guards likeCycra Pro Bends and your lever bending/breakage problems will be over. Although, I always carry spares out on the trail but have never needed them. Knock on wood.

AgoosSS: Already ordered a set of Tusk D-FLex handguards [8D] So I won't be breakin'g any more levers (hopefully). But it doesn't hurt to just have an extra, ya know? Especially at 5 bucks a pop from the dealer.

Handguards have saved my levers more times than I care to count.

Chris,

Them 09 klx turn signals are smaller than my huskys, and have flexible stalks plusare DOT. Makes me want to change the huskys to KLX turn signals. But that would be about 196 samoleans, and the Baja Designs signals are good quality.

I concur about the hand guards. They save levers lives.

I just purchased a 2009 KLX 250s. The moose hand guards will not fit and I had to return them. Were you able to put on the Tusk guards easily?

Are these the guards your purchased?

Thank you.

Anyone have an idea where to get aftermarket turn signals for the 09 250? I busted one last weekend, and want to get something smaller and maybe that doesn't stick out as far. Thanks.
