Default 09 13T Front Sprocket.

Ordered a new JT 13T Sprocket.
Has the number 13 -E512 stamped into the sprocket and the number 31-103-13D/08 on the packet.
On close inspection I noticed the offset on the crankcase side of the sprocket is different.
Measured it with vernier and the difference is .8 of a millimeter. (Almost 1 millimeter)
Is this an issue. If so can someone give me the name of a supplier and a part number that is correct.

Have also found another JT part number JTF516.13. Can anyone confirm that this is in fact the right one?????????

Check my sig for the Moose part for the 13. Tooth shape is slightly different from OEM but the offset is correct. No ending up with your back wheel angled to make the chain line "look" correct when in fact it's not, when using a front sprocket with the wrong offset.

That's the correct one. I bought a "generic" aftermarket sprocket labeled 516-13T and that has same offset as the stock.

They wrongly assume the 250s and 300 use the same sprocket. The correct fitment will also cross to the lakota and mohave 250 and 300 quads. If the part number you have crosses to the klx300 it's wrong.

BTW Acole, your OE sprocket looks different to the one fitted to my AUS KLX250RH7. The rubber bushes on the sprocket look a lot thinner and on my OE sprocket the sprocket sits on the rubber not the metal flange when layed flat on a steel bench. Could be a difference with the newer (08/09 and later) bikes different swinging arm (chain line difference.)

There doesn't appear to be any rubber bushes on my OE sprocket.

The AM one on the left is a JT with an offset of 8.5mm.
To day I found another 13T sprocket which has an 8.8 millimeter offset which is getting closer to the OE 9.5mm. (PBR Sprockets #523 13c)

Arrives tomorrow.

Maybe I'm being to pedantic but I was told sprocket alignment was critical to chain wear.

Will post a pic when it arrives.
