You know what they say "little tank little di**" LOL,just kidding. Mondo tanks are for big boys who ride in large areas all day long and where there are no gas stations in between. I rode 153.4 miles yesterday with only one short "cigarette break". I'm not sure that there are many places in Louisiana where you can even find a trail or more appropriately a trail system more than 30 miles long, if that. When I lived in Flagstaff AZ there were forest roads that were 70 miles long from Flagstaff to Payson. If you didn't have a big tank you were pushing, for days. Obviously if your content with the stock gas tank capacity you don't ride too far.

Well as for designated trails, the stuff here by the house is 34 miles and the singletrack is about the same. There are hundreds of miles of forest service roads, both full-on gravel and backwoods firebreaks. The joys of living so close to the forest is that gas is always convenient. Like I said before, I ride it like its a dirt bike that happens to be street legal, I don't do adventure touring for hundreds of miles. I can go 100 miles of all-street before I hit reserve, that's more than enough.

Again, I am sorry if I offended anyone with my off-hand joke, please don't take things so seriously.

Cliffsta where do you ride in La is Pineville any where near Houston? I used to live (exsist) in Houston (Clear Lake from Aug 05 to Feb 08) and I had to drive 100 miles one way to the Sam Houston National Forest to ride anything that wasn't a supercross style moto track ( I have a crf450r too). When it would rain they would close the trails for at least a week after it rained. As you know it never rains in the Houston area. I wish I would have known there was some where to ride in La. I bought a jet ski, plenty of places to ride those.

Nope Pineville is about 4 hours from Houston. We're in Central Louisiana, about dead center of the state. But pretty much all the trails to be ridden in Louisiana are here in Cenla. Forest Hill, Red Dirt, Breezy Hill, Camp Livingston, all in a very tight radius.

Wow, I never thought we'd see KLX year disputes! Different bikes I can see, but different years? This is good stuff! BTW, the '09 is the best :-)

If you ride some of the single track trails in Death Valley NP area, (like Punkenduro & I do), you're 'gonna' wish you had the bigger tank!! Trust me!! I've run out of gas twice on single runs from Sunset CG to the charcoal Beehive kilns and on another ride from Sunset CG to Titus Canyon. Hoofing it and hoping for a ride to the nearest gas station isn't much fun!!
http://www.americansouthwest.net/cal...alley_map.html here's a map to look over the area.

And, I love the little manly tool bag

Haven't ridden the '09 or seen one either, but the 2007 KLX 250s is the one for me. I'm a happy camper, but will be a lot happier when I get the BIGGER TANK INSTALLED. Guess what, you don't have to fill it for each ride... but it's tough to have what you'll need in bottles and auxilary tanks!

Happy trails,

I'd go with the o7 as well. And fight with them on the price a little more. I'm sure they would love to get that 2 year old dust collector out of the showroom. $3900 is not a great deal, considering you still have to pay tax, license etc.

Default 07 or 09

If both are going to stay stock the 09 would be mine. If going to 331 or 350 the 07 has a higher top gear. my o7 pulls great from 30mph in sixth gear with the 331 kit and 14 42 sprokets. OLD DAVE
