wow that sucks. I've got one of those by moose too. who would glue one of those on!!!!!. I would also try to fish around with a small magnet, chances are its magnetically stuck to the bottom close to the drain.

man now i'm paranoid......

I have tried with a magnet, I have one that looks like Maverick's, there is a very limited area that you can reach through the small drain hole though and no joy.

OK, correct me if I'm wrong here ( I know someone will within 5 min ) but you have a 50% chance of catching a magnet with a magnet, only if the poles line up correctly. Otherwise they will oppose each other.
It's obviouslyattached to something ferrousinside the engine.

If its stuck on the bottom and you put a magnet underneath, they'd be the same polarities, you could then drag it in theory.

That's a bummer, man. I almost bought one of those too after noticing my SV650 had one stock and I thought it was a good idea. I honestly wouldn't worry about it though. It probably got ground up already by one of the engines internal gears. I mean, its a really tiny magent, right?

I would always be sketchy knowing it was in there. It'd be like waiting to **** out a staple you swallowed in some sort of candy.

If I had a choice I'd take the staple.
