Mine was right at $5,200 OTD. I got a 5% discount off of MSRP, paid something for freight and prep., paid 7.25% sales tax, plus about $80 for the license and title application. I went back later and added 2 additional years extended warranty on top of the base for something like $250.

RE: $$$
Insurance for me here in Long Island N.Y. is pretty low $150 a year. I could not belive it my self. NOW car Insurance $2000 a year with a good record. To buy a house, $300k would get you a really small house in a bad area. average house $500k. I dont know why the bike insurance is so cheap. But I'm not complaining...

RE: $$$
Slip,
I'll bet you even money that there are "dealer added costs" associated with that price of $4199. The reason I say that is one of my friends is a sales manager at a dealership. When I bought my KLX250S, I went and saw him. I showed him a price from another dealer that was close to that price. My friend told me that he did not understand how the dealer could sell it for that price as his cost was higher!
When I bought mine the out the door cost was $4700. This was the full price, nothing missing nor due later. This did not include any freight, crating nor assembly charges.
Might be interesting to see what the actual price out the door would be at the dealer that sells the bike for $4199! I'll bet there are some costs added before the bike leaves the dealership. If not, he is not going to be there for a long, long time.
