Curious as to if they only partially assemble the bike in Thailand, then put it in the crate? or do
they actually build the engines their? radiators? etc, etc.
Suppose they have Japanese Head Honcho's overseeing the building of the bikes?
Where on the bike does it say THAILAND ?
My salesman at the Kaw dealer says he doesn't know anything about the 250 or
650 being built in Thailand.. ya sure.
Learned today that one of the bikes I would like to buy is shipped from Brasil, the
YAMAHA 200 FAT TIRE
Also learned today that the YAMAHA 225 Dual Purpose bike is made in JAPAN! where
bikes are suppose to be built.

well, I'm not sure of the code for thailand, but if it's made in japan the serial number will definitely start with a J. I'm sure there are plenty of places too look up what the letter for thailand is online.

I can bet you guys that almost ALL of the parts for the bike were shipped to Thailand from Japan though.
Also, this is only a speculation, but you would probably see that most of the Japanese makers reserve their own facilities for their top end bikes. Why pay the high labor price in Japan on a motorcycle that costs so little to make?
