Good evening to all just became a member to the site had a question about a KLR because I am looking at purchasing one and im wondering as to what kind of value these hold and if what I might be paying is a good deal so the bike is a KLR 250 obviously 2003 it has 256 miles on the odometer im buying it from the second owner who has been in possession of it for the past 2 years and has only ridden it a few times it sat the past year and a half with gas in the carb and tank battery is dead and rear tire flat the on the other hand the bike looks like it just came out of the showroom not even a scratch only cosmetic issues that there are is the front fender is slightly faded from the sun and the threaded boss that the mirror screws in is broke the tires still have the little rubber **** on them and the brakes brand new he's asking 1700 for it and wont budge at all on it im going to buy it this weekend because it looks in excellent shape with low miles and I have wanted a KLR for sometime now but in the back of my mind I don't know if im going to get screwed out of 1700 bucks plus PA sales tax and title transfer fees if somebody can help me out and let me know if it its worth it or not it will be greatly appreciated thanks guys happy trails

 

Welcome to the forums. 256 miles? What the what? How is that even possible? Is the bike a red one? Cause you know green is faster unless its a Honda.... (shameless plug for my ST 1300) hehehe Anyway, that's not a bad price if the miles match the condition of the bike. We wold love to see a picture of it. Can you post a couple up?

 

Sorry for the late reply I just picked it up this past weekend it is a 2002 my mistake on the year anyhow the bike is in excellent shape ill post picktures this even right now its all apart because I am cleaning out the entire fuel system and changing all fluids plus fixing the fuel tank as rust has taken over in its years of storage
