Hi,
I have a 2004 KFX400 I didn;t know that I needed to start and run the machine for a couple of min. before checking the oil. I checked it cold and it read empty so I put in 2 quarts till it showed full. I started it and suddenly oil started coming out of the exhaust pipe. What could have caused this and is it a easy fix or do I need to have the engine taken apart? Thanks for any help I am lost on this.

 

Just drain some of the extra (2 qts). Warm up the ride and see where you are at. But quite honestly, how does a cold ride vs a hot ride need 2 qts of oil?
