RE: Clicking Noise??
What model is it?
My husband has a KVF 650 and a recall has been issued on it for steering knuckle problems. Apparently they are wearing out of them. One of the things that they said to watch for is clunking noises coming from the front ends. The recall affects the 2001 - 2005 KVF models and Brute Force models. (I know for sure it is for Canadian models, not sure if the American ones are affected too)

might be swing arm bearings going bad. when you back up the torque will tend to lift the bike up in the rear, moving the swing arm down. i know of a couple kawis that made noise like this and it was the swingarm bearings. mike

Is it a 4x4 or 2 w/d ? If it's a 4x4, the easiest thing to look at is the (front) CV boots. If one is torn, the CV joint has probably lost all its grease and lubrication. If you need to replace the boot, you might as well replace the CV as well.In some models you have to replace the whole shaft on either side.
