New to the forum. found today and am glad. I bought an 1997 mule 550 for a couple hundreed bucks. The motor is locked. Can i replace the motor in it 286cc with the kawaski fe350. will it fit? has anyone done that?.. oh yeah I also got a 617cc with it. Just by looking I dont think it will fit.,either

any ideas? what will a new motor cost ..

70290-2176-LF is a replacement engine part number and the price is $1138.17. It is in all of kawasaki's warehouses so availability isn't a problem either. As far as the other engines, your guess is a good as another, but I doubt it. If one of those motors would have fit, Kawasaki wouldn't have built the FE290 that is in the 550 mule.
