Default Mule 2510 starter problems

The starter on my mule has been failing. I wonder if anyone has replaced the starter and how much trouble it is. I also wonder if anyone has rebuilt or purchased a new starter and what that might cost.

Starter problem on mule is usually due to bad contact on the starter relay or starter itself, by dust, mud or some kind of debris. You may not need a complete starter. Check easy thing first if not done yet.

You can't do it yourself. If you have a service manual you will see that it requires special tools. I bought a starter on e-bay thinking it couldn't be that difficult but once I started to read the manual I realized I needed to take it to an authorized dealer. Expect to pay about $500.
