Brand new to UTVs. Borrowed a friend's and split the left rear outboard CV boot. Am having a terrible time replacing it. Took the axle out but can't find any good reference material on how to get the new boot on. Tried an expander tool and it won't work. The new boot keeps slipping off it as it expands.
I've seen videos that suggest you can remove the outboard bearing housing, but I've also seen videos where they state you may not be able to remove the outboard bearing housing and will have to remove the inboard one. I haven't been able to find anything specific to the Mule. Most of what I'm finding are for Polaris's so I don't know how applicable they are.
Any suggestions or advice. Can the outbound bearing housing be removed to facilitate replacing that CV boot? If so, what is the trick to getting the housing off?
