I am new to the forums and am about to be a new (to me) Mule owner. I am picking up a 3010 with a bad 670cc gas engine (the cylinder wall on one cylinder has a chunk missing, about the size of a pea. The cylinder sleeve is intact, though the current owner reported it wouldn't start before he disassembled the top half of the engine to find thr problem) on Monday. I am here in hopes of finding information about replacing the engine (i will take the existing to a local machine shop for inspection).

I see that I can get a reman engine for around $2k. I also saw a comment that B&S and Kohler have engines that will fit, though no details were available about specific engines or what's involved in the swap. I am interested in any information about a stock engine to swap in and/or details of other engines that can be installed with notes on what's involved.
