Default 3010 Kawaksaki mule Year 2005

Tried to start engine this morning. Cranks over but will not start up. Ran fine yesterday and parks it for the night. I check fuel and was out in tank. I filled it up and started engine up, ran fine. Drove it to pasture and turned off engine. Tried to start up and will do nothing but turn over engine and not run. I change fuel filter and check for fuel flow to carburetor and found it to be good. Pull plugs and checked firing on plugs. Firing was fine but still doesn’t start up. I even sprayed starting fluid into breather, still no running, pulled hose from breather to carburetor and sprayed starting fluid, cranked engine. still not running. Doesn’t even hit like it’s trying to start. What now?

changed plugs and sprayed a little starting fluid and it started up. I let it idle for about 10 minutes, then drove it to pasture and down road and back. Turned it off and fed up my goats. Came back to mule and it wouldn’t start. Had to spray a little starting fluid in breather and it started up. Ran it down the road and back wide open and it ran fine. Turned it off for a bit then tried it, it started up. I’m going to let it set tonight and try it in the morning. It idles good and accelerates good. Just don’t like to start after it sets for a while. Ideas please? So far I’ve replace fuel filter, plugs and added some sea foam to tank and charged battery to make sure it was full charge.

This morning I had to use stating fluid to start it. Could this be fuel pump not having enough pressure. When you take line off at carburetor and crank engine it squirts out gas. If it was carburetor, why does it idle so well and accelerate so we’ll? This is a head scratcher. I thought maybe air filter but it doesn’t look dirty and it makes no difference to starting up either filter out or in. Now I going to choke cable to see if it’s choking properly. I remember you had to pull out the choke to a max pull to start it before this episode started.

ok for you guys that don’t know. when they run out of gas they suck trash and water up from bottom of tank. Changed fuel filter pulled and clean carb. Clean low speed (idling jets) blowed out carb good. Put back on and shot a little starting fluid in breather and fired her up. Adjusted idle jets and ready Freddie, she runs like a new one. Just posted this for the guys having similar issues. Keep fuel filters changed out about every 5 months and don’t run out of gas.
