Zxi 900 no spark

just picked it up from a buddy had it sitting for a couple years un touched good compression across all cly I don’t have a key and just jumped the wires it cranks and the trim gauge works no lights come on trim does not work but it cranks over I cleaned all connections to cdi and ignition coils good ground does anyone know what might cause that or is there a certain way to wire the key I have red to red white to black cranks as long as red is to the other red wire.i haven’t checked out the trim box yet but I did jump the orange wire from trim box to the red one mentioned in the forum before to bypass the trim still no spark!
