Goin down wit da ship
Soooo... my ski almost sank today. I was on my boat with 7 other people. My wife was on the ski. She was jumping my wake and having a great time. Next thing I know I turn back to look at her and the nose of the ski is sinking and she's falling off. We whip back around to get her and I immediately see a hole through the top of the body just behind the tip of the nose. So we hook it up to the boat and get it back to the launch asap. Upon getting it out of the water we see a hole directly beneath the one in the top of the body along with a 1 foot gouge in the hull ending in another giant hole. I dont know what she hit but i guess i'm gonna be looking for a new body for my 1993 ss xi. Just another party on the water. I tried to blow all of the water out of the engine but I dont know if I need to do anything else before I try to start it.
It seems to me that the engine should be ok as long as I get all the water out of it. I just dont want to do any further damage. I'd appreciate any help.

We had a boat sink when it was beached overnight, we had to change the oil a couple times to get the water out and make sure the gas stayed dry. It ran again but it wasnt running great to start with so I couldnt tell you if there was any permenent damage. I would leave the engine compartment open so the electronics can dry out then change the oil, run it for a few minutes and change it again just to make sure its cleaned out. then again I'm no expert. Good luck with it brotha!

hahaha, bummer on the sinking vessel. You know what to do, just go back to basics. Dry things out, flush the engine a couple of times. (I prefer no ignition firing when turning the engine over at first. By hand before firing the gal up).
