2018 kawasaki jet ski STX 15F display not working dead ski
Hi guys. So I was riding normally few days ago. Came to jump off a slightly big wave. So I flew with the jet ski and once I slammed the water the jet ski died on the spot.
I took off the ignition key and put it back the dash display worked momentarily then turned off again. Tried again 2 times but the dash didn't even come on. Then the 4th time the dash came on but also momentarily then went off again. Towed the jet ski back to land and off to home
Analysis:
1) At first I thought it's a loose connection, tried all wires / connectors visible from the front trunk - no luck
2) the dash display didn't work until I jumped the battery using my running vehicle battery and connecting the jumper cables the dash comes on. But can't start, when I try to start it, it clicks but nothing. So thought it's a dead battery.
3) I shorted the starter relay using the jumper cable from the battery, the engine turned for a sec the stopped (low voltage I'm assuming)
4) checked the ski Battery, found its sitting at 10.5 volts. So I charged it again over night, came back to 12.7 volts. Took it to the ski. Connected it, soon I did that voltage dropped to 10.6 volts again and the dash display also didn't come on. And the engine wouldn't turn, nor the starter relay clicks.

Update: I think it's the battery issue. When I opened the battery compartment, I noticed that the rubber ties that hold the battery in place where untied. Don't know how long they've been untied for. So probably with all this riding, the final wave shook the battery so much that it probably introduced internal damage. Now when I charge the battery. I noticed that it looses charge quickly and gets down to 11.2 volts. And probably that dash display has an internal protection that when a voltage is less than 12 it doesn't turn off.

Update 2: it was the battery. A couple of cells got damaged due to the water slam when battery was not tied. I tested it with my friends jet ski Battery and it worked like a charm.
Getting a new battery soon.
