1997 STX 1100 Overheating!
I have a 1997 Kawasaki STX 1100 Jet Ski - it is overheating. I am wondering how I would go about solving this problem. It might be that the cooling system has been clogged with lake weeds (thanks, Lake Mead!). How would I check this? Can I remove the hose inside of the hull and clean it out that way? I am a little afraid of doing so unless someone with more experience can tell me if it is a good idea. THANKS much for any hints you can provide. One other thing.... it stalls repeatedly when first starting it. Is this just a sympton of a need for a tune-up?

I would recomend removing the cooling water hose from the eng and use compressed
air to blow it back out thru to the jet if it is clogged. Another thing is check the hoses
at the jet and see if the are cracked or broken.Don't run it until this problem is cured
as you will cause major damage.
