I purchased an extremely clean 1991 ZX1100 last fall and now that spring is here I am finally getting some seat time. Can someone please explain to me how the fuel lights function? When I turn the ignition on, they both flash and then go out. There is no fuel guage, just these 2 lights. How do you read the amount of fuel left? Someone told me that when the top one comes on, it is getting low. When the bottom light comes on, you're running on reserve? This seems like a hit or miss system to me. What does low mean.... another 5 miles or another 50? Thanks for any help!

 

Not sure of the mileage left once the light appears, i think you have atleast 20 miles on the reserve tank. My gas light never worked i just gauge it by mileage.
