I have a 98 ZX9R that will not start anymore. I need to start from the beginning and troubleshoot this so I can get back on the road by Sun. Where do I start???

 

Battery and fuses are always a good place to start.

 

me and you both...something has caused mine to stop starting today too. I have a 2003 ZX7R. I checked the battery and fuses all are good. When i put my key in to start it and turn the key to start normally I get my oil light and neutral light but today there was absolutely nothing until I got it home my husband started to tap on the ignition and the lights came on. But when we pushed the botton lights went ou and the bike won't start. I am at a loss...

 

KGyour bikewants you to upgrade it is sick of being riden so hard..LOL.. Hows the store coming along? OPen up any other locations yet?

SKG, you had the tank on and off a few times the last couple of days right? Look for pinched or loose molex connections also.

edit: sometimes those pins will work loose in the connector or water can get into them as well.

 

Yes the basics. Does the engine turn over, if yes, does it fire. You have a hx(history) of sometimes it runs and sometimes it does not run. Know the sequence of operation and testing becomes alot easier. Just narrow it down.

 

upgrade? yeah right "bling, bling" is a champ she just needs a little help from time 2 time.
