I have a 2005 Vulcan 800 Classic. This season it hesitates and is jerky on acceleration. In all gears but worst in 2nd. Also my mileage has dropped about 40%. It has quit on the highway a couple of times acting like it is out of fuel but then restarts. I checked the filter in the tank and it looks brand new. Changed spark plugs but no difference. Any ideas?

 

may be fuel pump or may be bad ground on coil or elerictric system
